Blood River Advice Office

Blood River Advice Office is a registered NGO focussed on promoting social justice in their community. The CBO runs an advice office that provides human rights services such as:

• dealing with domestic violence,
• promoting children’s rights
• promoting women’s rights
• poverty alleviation,
• HIV/AIDS awareness

In addition, they have a youth empowerment project. The CBO is working with many stakeholders in the community such as schools to design programs for alleviating some of the challenges in the community. They are connected to 9 schools which they are educating on sexual reproduction and HIV/AIDS. Blood River Advice has a food security program which is aimed at feeding children mainly from child-headed families as well as other vulnerable members of the community. The food garden is also aimed at making a profit and selling the produce to the community at an affordable price.

Blood River Advice office is operating on land under the jurisdiction of the traditional chief; however, they were given title deeds to the current land of their office including the garden expansion site.
