Joanne is currently the Executive Director at Scat and is responsible for the overall organizational management as well as the fundraising. Joanne has been employed at Scat for the past ten years having started as a fieldworker. Her background in the organization also includes research, field management and communications management. Prior to Scat Joanne was employed by the SANCA Alcohol and Drug Centre in PE as a community worker and by the Black Sash Advice Office in PE as the assistant director/senior caseworker. Joanne trained as a Social Worker at the now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and has during her career in community development trained in many areas of development facilitation and management.

Field Manager: Anthea Davids-Thomas
Anthea Davids-Thomas is employed as the field manager who is responsible for the management of the field staff, field related activities and programmes, management of the organization and reporting to donors. She has been in Scat's employ for eight years. She has an Honours Degree in Social Development and has been working in the development sector for eleven years.

Operations Manager: Mark Volmink
As Operations Manager at Scat, my responsibilities include Managing the Support Services Unit ( Finance and Administration), Human Resources Management, Assisting the Executive Director with fundraising, Marketing and Communications and dealing with governance matters relating to Community House( a building where office space is leased by other Non-profit Organisations, which co-owned by Scat and Western Cape Provincial Council of Churches). In addition to my BEcon degree and Higher Education diploma, I've also completed part of a MBA degree. My management experience extends over an 11 year period, which commenced in 1997 when I was appointed as Deputy -Director: Training , in the Department of Corporate Services, Western Cape. Other previous positions include Training Manager at Samancor and Director at a Centre for abused women and children.

Office Coordinator: Xoliswa Gongota
Xoliswa Gongota is Scat's Office Co-ordinator. She is responsible for managing Scat's Administration team, coordinating the Scat office and is PA to the Executive Director. Prior to joining the Scat team in 2007, Xoliswa has gained experience in the Western Cape Department of Education as an educator and School Manager.

Regional Coordinator: Colleen Alexander
Colleen is employed as the Regional Coordinator for the Western Cape and Northern Capes. She is a graduate from the University of the Western Cape and also holds certificates in Public Relations and International Human Rights from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Oxford University respectively. Colleen has extensive experience in the developmental sector gained at organizations dealing with human rights, social crime prevention and organizational development. She is an accredited trainer with an interest in human rights and capacitating new and emerging organizations.

HIV/AIDS Programme Co-ordinator: Kezziah Mestry
Kezziah Mestry is SCAT’s HIV/AIDS Programme Co-ordinator. She is responsible for providing ongoing support to fieldworkers and developing the capacity of LDAs to strategically plan for prevention, treatment care and support as part of their HIV/AIDS activities. Kezziah has 11 years experience as a public health researcher and study coordinator in studies that investigated sexual and reproductive health as well as HIV/AIDS amongst psychiatric and intellectually disabled patients, persons living in marginalized settings and childhood disability and development in the time of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Gerald has 14 years experience in the NGO sector, first as a business trainer and later as a training of trainer. He was also the training coordinator, responsible for business and skill training within prisons and various townships in the Western Cape. Most of his focus went around Local Economic Development (LED) Projects.

Erna is currently a fieldworker in the Western and Northern Cape. She holds an Honors degree in Practical Theology/Youth Work from the University of the South Africa and is currently completing her Masters in Gestalt Play Therapy at the same institution. Although her fulltime involved in community development only started in 2004, she gained a variety of experience in the developmental sector while working in local government, civil society as well as the NGO/NPO sector. She specifically has a vision to equip people who live under the injustice of prejudice with assertive skills to be fully part of their communities.

Talita Jacobs is a fieldworker for the Eastern Cape Province. She has 10 years of work experience with the government sector in the following areas: Natural Resource Management; Monitoring and Evaluation; Social Change and Development.
Her responsibilities at Scat involve monitoring the implementation of Community-based and Local Development Agencies (LDAs) programmes/projects, and also to provide capacity building support to the LDAs.
